Schiphol Lounge 1: Zitgebied luchtzijde in gebruik

After a major renovation, Schiphol has taken a new part of Lounge 1 into use; the airside seating area. In the coming month, Lounge 1 will continue to work hard on new facilities, such as restaurants and shops. The innovation is part of the investment plans to improve the quality at the airport. In doing so, the airport is adding 5,000 additional square meters of space for passengers flying within Europe. The extra space is an important milestone in the improvement of the airport. It sets the standard for the new Schiphol with a spacious, modern look and better passenger experience.

In Lounge 1, more than 20,000 square metres of passenger area will be renewed and made future-proof again. The technical rooms and installations are also being addressed. With the added 5,000 square meters, Lounge 1 is now significantly larger, with a more spacious look. With a new walking route, the extra space ensures a better flow of passengers traveling to European destinations. The new square offers more passenger seats and space for new facilities. For example, there will be several new restaurants and shops, which will be worked on by ESAP (a construction combination between Equans and SPIE Netherlands) in the coming month.
